Simply Dwelling

Dwelling

It’s where you live. It’s your safe place. It’s comfort, rest, peace. It’s that feeling of pulling into the driveway after a long trip and thinking, “Ahhh, finally home.” It’s familiar. It’s yours.

Dwelling

It’s what you’re thinking about. It’s what fills your mind when you aren’t thinking about anything else. It’s what your mind is “stuck” on.  It’s what wakes you up in the middle of the night.

Dwelling

It’s Jesus. He is our home. He is our comfort, rest, peace. He is our safe place. He is where we find our life. He is the fortress we run to. He is ours.

This blog has been birthed out of a longing to write and a longing to make much of Jesus.  The name Simply Dwelling sums it up best—My physical dwelling: a desire to simply love, enjoy, and steward my home and the family God has given me; What my heart dwells on: a desire to funnel all my thoughts, words, and actions into loving Jesus and loving others; My True Dwelling: a desire intimately know and experience the Presence of Jesus as my true Place of Rest.

I am excited for this journey. My vision of this blog is to be a place of encouragement and rest for mothers who are in the thick of it.  I am with you. I have four children ages six and under. I understand long days, even longer nights, and desiring your home to be a place of joy and contentment. I understand feeling overwhelmed and like you must have missed your calling because this isn’t easy. I understand how you can love someone so profoundly that you would die for them and yet you get angrier at them than you can ever remember being—and feeling both emotions in a span of three minutes!

I want this blog to be a place where I share what the Lord and others in my life have taught me. I will share what’s been shared with me about motherhood, homemaking, and natural living in hopes that you too will find inspiration and beauty in your mundane days of being home with littles.

Mamas, it is possible to use our gifts and talents to serve our families and honor the Lord. It is possible to do it all with great joy and contentment. It is possible for our homes to be places that our families long to be. It is possible to live simply in our dwelling, while dwelling on lovely things, and looking to our Ultimate Dwelling to work it all together—making beauty out of the chaos.

Welcome, my friends! I look forward to being a conduit of His shared Grace!

Dwell Simply,

Abby
