My Journey to Natural Living Part Two

This is part two of my journey to natural living. If you missed part one, click here! ——————————————————————————————————————– Feeling renewed, I began researching PCOS. I reached out to anyone I could think of who might be able to offer some advice. I resolved to trust the Lord whether He chose to heal my face or not. If you are unfamiliar with PCOS, I’ll quote another blogger at Keeper of the Home in her definition,  “It is a hormonal disorder that can look a bit different in each woman, but generally it involves sporadic or non-existent ovulation, higher than usual male hormones, and sometimes actual ovarian cysts. For most women, it means that their…

Why I Love Trim Healthy Mama

I’ve had four babies in 5 years.   I have been continuously pregnant and/or nursing for almost seven years straight.  These two things combined definitely take a toll on a mama’s body.  And while I generally lose my baby weight pretty quickly, over the years the scale had been slowly creeping upwards.  Even though I’ve been passionate about eating nutritious, whole foods for years—I was discouraged to see that despite feeding my body well, I was still slowly gaining weight.  Most days I found solace in the Lord and in knowing that my body was growing and nourishing another human being. Chocolate Peanut Butter Dip

I don’t know if it’s because I’m a nursing mom or what, but I cannot go to bed at night without a snack. If I don’t eat before bed, I will literally wake up at 3 am ravenous and annoyed. But since beginning my journey with Trim…

How I Cleanse My Face Naturally…and Frugally!

It’s been seven years since I radically changed my diet and lifestyle, which God used to heal my body of PCOS (Click here to read my story!). One of the things I did early on was start eliminating toxins from my skin care products (but in all honesty, I have just taken the plunge to switch all of my makeup over to natural products). First of all I was obviously looking for something natural–no toxins or fragrances. Secondly, I was looking for cheap. I was a few months away from getting married and we couldn’t break the bank buying all my natural skin care products. I came across some articles…

My Journey to Natural Living Part One

When I was a little girl and well into my adolescent years, I remember getting frequent compliments about my complexion. “Your skin is flawless!” they would say and then proceed to ask me how I managed to keep clear skin during the tumultuous teenage years. I never knew how to answer that because I didn’t do anything. It was just the way God had made me. Little did I know that God would later take me on a journey of acne and confusion that would end up changing the course of my life. In August of 2012, I was living in east Asia–the summer heat and smog were almost suffocating. I was…
