Meet Abby

Hey There! I’m Abby.

I’m so glad you’re here. Simply Dwelling Blog has been birthed out of a longing to write and a longing to make much of Jesus. I have been so empowered and educated over the years by other people sharing their unique journeys in homemaking, homesteading, and growing with Jesus, and I want to pass on the torch of discipleship to other young families (or anyone!) who might be in need of encouragement, ideas or fresh inspiration. 

 A few things first:

I am a follower of Jesus. He is my Lord, my best friend and my heart’s greatest treasure.  My prayer is that He will be made great through every word written on this blog.

I’m married to a precious man named Michael. He is my favorite person to spend time with. His pursuit of me (leading up to marriage and in our marriage) has constantly reflected the love and patience of my dear Savior. He is the sweetest daddy to our little ones and my biggest cheerleader. 

God has blessed us with five children, ages 9 and under, and we are expecting baby #6 at the end of this year.  We are passionate about family discipleship and seeing God’s Kingdom come in the context of discipling our children at home, and simultaneously pouring into our local community.

  We recently moved to a new home on some land in a rural southern town where we’ve spent the past year renovating our home and dreaming about all the things we want to do on the land. We are definitely newbie homesteaders, but it’s a growing passion and a journey we’d love to share as we move forward!

I’ve learned a lot over the last ten years.  And my journey in wifehood and motherhood has really just begun.  My vision for Simply Dwelling Blog is to be a place where I share practical tips and inspiration that have helped me to find joy and contentment in my calling as keeper of my home. You’ll see content about homemaking, homeschooling, cooking, homesteading, and walking with Jesus. This is a place where vision is cast that home can be the happiest place to be and with God’s help, you can cultivate a Kingdom-focused epicenter with eternal impact.
